Chaya Downtown and the LA Opera's The Barber of Seville
On Wednesday, December 9, WHERE Los Angeles partnered with Chaya Downtown
and the Los Angeles Opera to host concierges for an evening of food, drink
and comic opera. At the new French Japanese Chaya Downtown guests were welcomed
by Assistant General Manager, Mary Thompson and treated to a chef's selection of
passed appetizers, sushi and wine pourings. The Los Angeles Opera's Director of
Marketing, Jean Oelrich and Associate Director of Marketing, Mark Rice were on
hand to mingle with concierges. Oelrich gave guests a quick synopsis of Rossini's
The Barber of Seville and prepared guests for the brilliance of Peruvian tenor
Juan Diego Florez and young mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato.
