Summer Lights, Bayside Nights
On Thursday, July 23, WHERE Los Angeles partnered with the Bayside District
and treated concierges and guests to a very special Santa Monica summer night.
Festivities kicked off at Wokcano Restaurant & Lounge where proprietor
Marcus Kwan and Director of Marketing John Paul Lorello welcomed guests with
a cocktail and appetizer reception. Bayside Marketing Director Debbie Lee gave
guests a quick overview of the district's retail, dining and entertainment offerings
before guests set off on a quick stroll over to the legendary Fred Segal Santa Monica.
Concierges were welcomed by Creative Director Sharon Segal, Kirsten Segal and 'Zero Minus Plus'
shop owner Darrylynn Kaun who took guests on tours of its many distinctive boutiques. Along the
way guests sweetened their palate with mini cupcakes, iced coffee, lemonade, fruit and cookies.
Each concierge received a parting gift bag from Fred Segal filled with unique gifts from several
of its coveted designer retailers. Guests then made their way over for the closing dessert and
cocktail party hosted Ma'Kai's General Manager Mike Rosa. Santa Monica Place's Ashley Walkley gave
an update on what's to come at the revamped outdoor shopping center. Top Notch Ticket's Kevin Salter
and Malibu Paragliding's Claude Fiset were both present and raffled off prizes. Fred Segal raffled off
three $500 shopping certificates and Black & White Car Rental raffled off a two-day rental of a Mercedes
SL 550 convertible. Bayside District raffled off a gift basket valued at $1,000.
