First & Hope Downtown Supper Club and "South Pacific"
On Tuesday, June 1, WHERE Los Angeles took concierges out for
"some enchanted evening" at the new First & Hope Downtown
Supper Club before a preview performance of "South Pacific" at
the Ahmanson Theatre. Guests were treated to champagne pourings
and tropical cocktails such as the Bali Hai (made with three premium
rums blended with fresh pineapple and pomegranate juice) and the
Stingy Bastard (Laird's Applejack, ginger syrup and citrus served
over ice and topped off with American lager). First & Hope executive
chef, Shelley Cooper impressed guests with her miniature menu bites
including mini burgers, chicken and pot roast comfort crusts, lemon-pepper
lamb ribs, deviled eggs, mac & cheese, and servings of specialty Back
Yard Garden Salad. Dessert included dishes of Porky Pig Banana Split
(bacon and banana ice cream, jalepeno fudge, brandied cherries and
caramel pork rinds). Guests were then introduced to "South Pacific"
by Center Theatre Group's Jim Royce and Michael Bulger. Top Notch
Ticket Services' Julia Salter and Midway Car Rental's Sandra
Perrichon and Ryan Kerzer were also on hand to raffle off door
prizes. The grand prize went to the Downtown Business Improvement
District's Leo Hoffman who took home a dining certificate to return
to First & Hope, a Mercedes rental from Midway and a cash
envelope from Top Notch Tickets.
