Catalina
On Thursday, June 3, the Orange County Concierges Association took concierges
on an annual day trip to Santa Catalina Island. After a smooth boat ride over
on the Catalina Flyer, the group landed in Avalon and hopped aboard a tram tour
of the beautiful city. The hour-long tour traveled along the scenic route, showcasing
views of the unique architecture and historical homes up in the hills, as well as the
breathtaking spanse of beaches below. After a relaxing lunch at Steve's Steakhouse,
it was time for a tour of a delightfully pink Victorian mansion, the Hotel St. Lauren.
Concierges then took a trip back to the days of silent films and big bands in a walking
tour of the historical Casino, home of the Avalon Theatre and Ballroom. The day ended
with with wine and cookies on the rooftop patio of the Hotel Villa Portofino and some
shopping at the boutiques along the waterfront.
