Del Mar Plaza
On Wednesday, Sept., 24 WHERE Magazine drew San Diego concierges to the
Del Mar Plaza for an end of summer soiree. Concierges first gathered at
Il Fornaio for traditional Italian appertivos and vino. They enjoyed the
sunset from the poolside cabanas at L'Auberge. Decadent appetizers and
cocktails such as eggplant roulade with goat cheese, foie gras torchon
with blood orange pop rocks and lobster corndogs were served along side
champagne with raspberry caviar. Pacifica Del Mar hosted concierges on the
exclusive Pacifica Breeze patio. Executive chef Christopher Idso created a
gourmet raw bar with crab legs and shrimp on ice along with tray passed mini
crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops and grilled petite lamb chops. The night
concluded at Epazote where guests were treated to their specialty New York strip
steak and sweet salad before indulging in home made desserts such as bite size cheese
cake and truffles. Epazote's executive chef Justin Hoehn and owner Candice Sullivan
raffled off the grand prize of a two-night stay at L'Auberge and dinner for two at Epazote.
