Makes the Cut
Two former contestants of the acclaimed Bravo television series Top Chef recently opened restaurants in Los Angeles: Ilan Hall The Gorbals, and Stefan Richter Stefan’s at L.A. Farm. And a contestant on upcoming season six is already making waves on the local dining scene: Michael Voltaggio, new chef de cuisine of The Dining Room at the Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena. Formerly executive chef at acclaimed The Bazaar by Jose Andres, the 30-year-old tattooed toque replaces Craig Strong at the Michelin-starred restaurant and offers his brand of New American cuisine with occasional molecular gastronomy flourishes in dishes such as Miso strawberry shortcake with nitrogen frozen yogurt.
